Teenagers Drug Parents to Use the Internet Article

Two teenage girls from Rocklin, California, admitted to giving their parents drugged milkshakes so they can use the Internet past curfew.

The teens, aged 15 and 16, were forbidden by their parents to go online after ten PM.  Frustrated by this strict rule, the teens gave the parents vanilla and chocolate milkshakes spiked with sleeping pills.  The parents noticed that the milkshakes tasted odd and grainy but drank some anyway.

The parents became suspicious when they woke up groggy and with symptoms similar to a hangover. They obtained drug kits from Rocklin police station and tested themselves.  Both tested positive.

The teens were turned over to the police and kept in Placer County Juvenile Hall where they were booked for suspicion of conspiracy and wilfully mingling a pharmaceutical with food.

The teens’ names were not released because they are minors.
